Poor Latency?

Not very happy with Dorico latency. My system: Nord Stage 4, Intel 8700k PC with 64 gb, Focusrite 18i20 gen 3. Rhodes V8 plugin. I play keyboards - often fast runs.
At the moment, I have reduced the 18i20s latency to 16. which is very low and as low as It goes. if I perform in a passage, there is significant lag that makes the keys feel spongy. I don’t get these issues with Cubase 15. I suppose I can record in Cubase, and then import MIDI

I think there is nothing that can be done about this? I see no latency controls for this (finger press to ear) issue in Dorico 6.

Thank you but I think this relates to the notation, not the round trip between key press and audio coming out of speakers
