Poor music sheet when importing musicXML

Hi,

I just scan music with smartscores ne 64 songbook, export XML and tried to import in Dorico 6 elements, but the result is poor: it seems that notes are time shift at the end : any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, @laurentvuong. It’s definitely possible that you will experience issues with notes or voices shifting in time when importing MusicXML. The issue is normally due to rhythmic errors that were not fully corrected in SmartScore, but if you’re using SmartScore NE, you presumably can’t fix any errors there, as if I remember rightly, that version of SmartScore doesn’t have a user interface for making corrections.

So you will need to make your corrections after bringing the music into Dorico.

Laurent,
don’t overestimate the possibilities of scan software. Can you check and correct errors in smartscore before exporting? If not, or if you have not done so, you might get wonky results with that .xml file. You could iron them out in Dorico Elements if you really know your way around, but it would be better to make sure the .xml file is free of errors and ambiguity.

If you try to correct things within Dorico Elements:
If you have systems with only one voice, select the whole system and ->Voice->Change Voice->Upstem Voice 1. You have to be sure, everything in that staff is in the same voice.
Then you can invoke Insert Mode and delete superfluous rests and/or correct rhythms. Sometimes you have to delete tuplet numbers. After that system look right, switch Insert Mode off again.

OK thanks
I will try to correct in the source, i.e in SmartCore
