Something I discovered today after two years of hunting for a fix to this (and now feel really stupid about) was that my PC was overheating due to a rather lacking cooler.
Try downloading core temp and open up a project, if your CPU is getting super hot this will cause ASIO spikes. Get some thermal compound and isopropyl alcohol, de dust your system well and remove old thermal compound, re apply and tadaaa fixed. If you’re using a stock cooler these can get thick with dust very quickly (intel branded are especially shite)
I bought an Arctic 7 revision 2 for £17 on amazon, it’s a quick fix if you’re strapped for cash and it will make your system run a lot smoother. Just an avenue that I’m not too sure many people have went down to fix this issue. Hope this helps!
