I’m having weird pops, clicks and sudden pauses during playback in Dorico 4.3.20. I’ve changed the audio interface, changed buffer size, restarted Dorico + the computer, and I still have this problem. Playing through HALion Sonic.
Sometimes some instruments won’t come back for a while.
I’m on Mac M2 with Ventura. It happens at random moments and sometimes it takes longer for it to happen, but it still happens. It’s slowing me down.
Attached is the zip file with the Diagnostic Report generated. Thank you so much for any help!
According to the logs, there are frequently messages like:
" ClientCallback::audioDeviceBaiosChange: deviceWasReset"
So that explains the dropouts, but I don’t know why or where those messages come from.
Could it be an electrical problem? How is that device connected to your computer, via USB-cable?
You haven’t explicitly mentioned that you’re using a Behringer UMC404HD external interface.
Are you using it with a power supply, or USB bus-powered? Pops and clicks are a known issue when bus-powered.
Does the problem occur when playing through built-in speakers or other output?
Thank you so much, Ulf.
I believe the problem was a faulty USB hub where I plug my interface to. I’ve been using the built-in output after these replies and it has been working perfectly.
@RZDorico
This was it, thank you! It was indeed this. It is USB-powered and the hub I plugged my interface to is not working properly. I tried with a different interface in the hub and same problem, but everything runs smoothly on the built-in output. Thank you so much!
