Hi, I just received a popup on launch of Dorico Pro 4 about a 50% discount off my upgrade to Dorico Pro 5. However, when I clicked the button, there was no discount to be found. Was this a mistake?

I use Dorico multiple times a day! This popped up only yesterday!
Sorry – from Daniel’s description, the sale announcement should appear the next time you restart, after it has downloaded it.

I just had the same experience as the OP. I just encountered a popup on launch of Dorico Pro 3.5 about a 50% discount on upgrading to Dorico Pro 5. However, when I clicked the button, there was no discount to be found. I went to my email inbox to check for any emails about the discount, but I don’t see any emails from Dorico about this deal. I logged into my Steinberg account to check my newsletter settings, and the setting is turned on as it should be. Is there something I’m missing here? I would love to upgrade to 5, and would have definitely taken advantage of the promotion if I would have been aware of it.
When was the last time you used Dorico? As I understand it, Dorico checks to see if there’s a promotion, and then it displays it at the next launch.
I don’t think there has been a discount for some time.
However, there have been special offers aimed at v3.5 users, as the old licensing server is closing down in a few months. (Dorico will still work, but you won’t be able to reactivate or move your installation.)
There are so many new features and improvements since v3.5 – I’d strongly recommend upgrading. The upgrade price from 3.5 is £132, so probably around $/€ 150.
I tend to use Dorico sporadically. When I have a project going, I use it heavily. But at times, there are stretches when I don’t need it for a few months.
Mainly, I’m curious why I haven’t seen emails about the promotions offered in 2024.
Sorry that you didn’t receive any emails about the promotions we ran in 2024, Joy. There will be an opportunity to update to Dorico 5 at a discount in the near future, so please keep an eye out.

Are you signed up to the newsletter? I think you have to opt in to marketing promotions.
