I think one solution could be to input “invisible” notes (no-stem in the properties and color property alpha zero) and use lyrics (with the appropriate font) to input the numbers…
MarcLarcher is a good suggestion.
I would add that notes are not absolutely necessary because Lyrics are not bounded to note but to rhythmic position only.
