I have a large screen and essentially always have my “left zone” side panel visible at all times. I don’t think I’ve ever gone out of my way to hide it. However, in the past week, since upgrading to the latest Dorico (5.1.70.2200 - on MacOS 13.6.1) I have noticed very often when looking over that my left zone is in a hidden state! Like several times a day. Initially I thought maybe this was a mistake on my part, but the key command is Cmd+7 and specific enough that it would require a cognizant effort to press that on a regular basis. Having used Dorico for years every day, and only just this week seeing this happen constantly I can only surmise that after numerous times it might actually be a bug. I will try to stay alert and observe when it happens, but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I’m fairly certain there is no bug in this area. Don’t forget that you can also open and close the left-hand panel by clicking in the toolbox at the left-hand side of the project window.
Have you accidentally (or otherwise) assigned another keystroke to Preferences > Key Commands > Window > Show Left Zone?
Yes, I’m aware of this toggle. On the far left of my 4K display it and being a Dorico user for years it’s unlikely that suddenly I would accidentally click it several times a day, without realizing. Wondering then if maybe it could be some other thing installed lately which is creating a wonky conflict. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for when this happens and report back if it’s useful info.
That was actually the first thing I checked, because I wondered if perhaps it was assigned to something else. I wasn’t even aware of this command until looking because I never use it.
There are no other assignments here, and of course I’m more than willing to own up to user error but the likelihood of me suddenly hitting cmd+7 numerous times a day without realizing it are, well, none.
I do also have Keyboard Maestro and Streamdeck, but I haven’t made any changes there recently and I double-checked, there appear to be no related conflicts there either.
