Possible bug with rehearsal mark colors in update 4.3.20

Experimenting with the background and foreground colors of rehearsal marks in the newest update of Dorico Pro I came across a possible bug. As the images show, some fonts display correctly, others don’t (subsequent fonts in the images: Academico, Arial, AvenirNext Pro, Bahnschrift).

Greetings,

Stefaan

The way that this feature works is that we fill both the rehearsal mark enclosure and also the background behind the character itself with the defined background colour. When we fill the background behind the character itself, it is automatically filled to the full line height of the font, whatever that may be; this can vary a great deal for different fonts.

We could perhaps in future change this such that we don’t colour the text background when we know the text is enclosed. I’ll think about it! In the meantime, you will need to slightly enlarge the rehearsal mark enclosure relative to the text for these fonts with particularly large line heights.

If you zoom in on @Stefaan’s picture, you can see that even in the first example with Academico there is a spill from the character’s background into the lower border of the box.

Stefaan, is this file using Dorico’s default settings?

Yes, I created a new file using the solo piano template.
