I have found that, while MusicXML-import in Dorico might be wonky (haven’t tried that, only read about troubles), the MusicXML Dorico EXPORTS imports actually really cleanly into Sibelius 8. So, if you’re missing those chord symbols or some other feature Sibelius has, but you want to get used to doing things in Dorico, export your project as MusicXML and import that file in Sibelius 8, then continue working there.
I have tried that, albeit briefly, with 3 different projects, and the resulting Sibelius score was fine to work with. This can help bridging the feature gap until the point releases solve whatever issues you might run into with Dorico.
