I have set a tempo track up with multiple changes in tempo. So I want to use Cubase to practice from for this song. I’ve loaded a midi file for the song, and plan to use Score editor as the sheet music.
I need to have the metronome while practicing. I have opened the Transport/Metronome Setup. I did the settings, including turning on count-in, went to the Click Sounds tab, and made no changes. Just to use default.
I click on start and hear the sound, but no count-in. I figured when I start the play for practice it will do the count-in. So I saved it, and then clicked on the transport bar Activate Metronome, and Activate Count-In.
So when I play, I get no sound whatsoever. (I muted the tracks. I though, oh that’s the problem. I unmuted them, and still no metronome)
BTW, I am on Cubase 13. I did upgrade to 14, and within 5 minutes I found that Import Tempo track doesn’t work. Really? LOL
That was quick. I really appreciate hour response.
I was afraid I would hear it was just for recording.
So, I tried the suggestion. I need to mention, I am very new with the DAW.
So, I tried with pressing the R key. Got nothing. BUT, I was going to include some screenshots, and when I opened the Metronome Setup, I found that the selection I made for output (the Yamaha keyboard) did not stick. I selected Midi 3, and it plays the metronome.
But, it is NOT doing the count-in. Also, the click sound is rather obnoxious. I played around with the Click Sounds tab. I selected from the pulldown list at the bottom, and it changed the first time, but it was even worse. Now it won’t change at all.
