Here is the score Marc shared, played by the VSL Vienna Instruments series powered by Articulate Presets and the Articulate Map. The first version uses Chamber Strings in the Teldex Studio
and the second version in the Mozartsaal of the Vienna Concert Hall with a bit of Orchestral Strings (75/25 - with the Articulate Map the mixture can conveniently be chosen by dedicated control symbols at the beginning of the score).
Since this thread is on the automatic playback, the only change I made is adding occasional “rep.” markings to select repetition samples. Machine guns simply have not place in music , and I hear many of them in the other renditions. It should be a piece of cake for Dorico to detect repetitions in the score and I really hope Dorico 4 will give Expression Map developers more conditions to choose the appropriate automatic playback (e.g. in case of the VSL to pick the dedicated repetition samples with up to 9 recorded repetitions when there are more than 4 repeated notes). Maybe someone in charge is reading this
, so that also this hopefully will be completely automatic soon.
However, otherwise I did not do any programming at all (i.e. no changes to the dynamics lane, automation lane, …). As others noted, the playback could surely be improved by adding e.g. occasional marcato markings, using sampled sforzato, … (and the Articulate Map allows to adjust every detail if desired), but I refrained from performing any changes in order to compare to the original Note Performer version.
