As in Reaper and Logic Pro, it would be nice if Cubase defaults to pre-fade metering when recording and post-fade when replaying.
Also via Preferences, allow changing the replay behavior (and possibly the record behavior too).
In cubase, while recording, we can see the Input signal on the Input Channel meters. But then you need to add channels to the mix console.
When recording, pre-fader metering makes the most sense because you want to make sure that the audio/converters aren’t being recorded with clipping. If you’re in post fader metering, you run the risk of clipping your signal without knowing because your meter is showing the signal after Cubase’ fader.
