Hiya, I’ve wanted this for so long but every time I remember I not able to post a request.
To be able to automate track volume pre fader, so faders remain final with out having to set up loads of routing to achieve same thing.
Render in place has become a much needed and used thing, so props for that.
This is already possible. It’s called “Pre-gain Automation”.
Pre-gain automation is quite useless if the volume automation has to happen post-fx, pre-fader. I want it after all my fx.
Your inserted VSTfx doesn’t have an output gain??
Each one is different at the end of the chain. I’m looking for a simple vst I can set the min and max dB and then automate that for fades, etc…
If you are interested in third-party plugins there are a bunch of freeware out there, like DMGAudio Track Control or Blue Cat’s Audio gain Suite, that you can automate. Just put one last in your chain and then you don’t have to mess with your previus plugins outputs.
I’ve tried them all. The best one seems to be Blue Cat’s. At least I can specify the min and max so that my automation curve is 0dB when it’s at the top and only -20dB at the bottom.
