Hello Everyone,
I’m trying to get “parts get track names” to work, I’ve ticked it in preferences but it seems to have no effect, and when I press CMD+G the editing window doesn’t appear
How do you expect it to work?
On Windows, it works as described:
If turned On, moving parts to a different Track will rename the Part to the different Track.
If turned Off, the Part retains it’s original name.
Which editor ?
Id lik it to work as you suggested it has before but it’s stopped. I’m on mac.
Go to “Preferences” - click on “Editing” and enable “Parts Get Track Names”, “Apply” and “OK”
Hi,
hope it’s not too late: I just tried and activated the preference but it runs only with new created events not with the older ones… ![]()
I think you may have to rename the track - double-click the name, DO NOT change it, hold any modifier key+Return. That should make every part on the track the same as the track name.
Thank you @Googly_Smythe, this is true but I intended that when I move an event from a track to a different one it would take the new track name automatically; this happen - at least for what I understood so far - if I create a new empty event drawing it (shortcut 8) but not if I get a new event recording some audio, in this case if I move the event on a new track it keeps it original name.
This is not a big issue to me but I was tried to understand as I came across this command reading the manual.
Best,
Art
