Preferences need to be reloaded every time i open Cubase

Hi-

IIRC, it used to be that Cubase was started with the most recent created set of preferences loaded.

Recently I’ve noticed that none of my three preferences are loaded when Cubase opens - I have to manually load the one I want.

Is there anything I can do to make Cubase open with the most recent preferences loaded?

Creating a new profile didn’t seem to fix this.

Thank you!

Meaning what/which exactly?

Thank you for your question, @steve : I have created 3 preference presets over time via the drop down menu in Edit (from the top of the main Cubase page) > Preferences , each reflecting specific changes I’ve made in the preference file.

Don’t know – I would need more specific info. Seems likely to be some kind of corruption. Have you tried re-saving your pref presets with different names to test?

Just ran a quick test here, it reloads the settings as when last opened as far as I can see…it just doesn’t populate the Preference Preset box with the name of the loaded preset or show which one is selected in any way.

This is on Mac though and the menu option you describe doesn’t exist, the presets must be saved and loaded from within preferences.

Ah, this is really interesting, thank you.

As I mentioned I have the same the results as you, as far as, “it just doesn’t populate the Preference Preset box with the name of the loaded preset or show which one is selected in any way”.

Additionally though, mine behaves differently than yours, “it reloads the settings as when last opened as far as I can see” - in my case, my personal preferences are not loaded (unlike yours), until I manually choose them in the drop down window.

I can’t tell what set of preferences is loaded when I open Cubase, before I choose mine - default ones, vs some other ones - the only thing I know is they are not the ones I have most recently used.

Thanks again, @Grim !

Anyone with a W10 suggestion, please?

How do you conclude then that the wrong one has opened? Couldn’t it be the right one opening, just without the correct title of the preset in the dropdown?

@steve Though I started out to try to come up with a quick and definitive answer to your good question by reviewing my most recent Preference Preset, and toggling to find differences between programmed Preference Presets, that’s too time consuming for me at the moment.

I’ll try to look into this further the next time I notice something that strikes me as awry when I open a Cubase project.

Thanks!
