How can I reinstall Dorico 5 while preserving the layout templates that were created before?
Your template files, along with all your saved default options, preferences, playback Templates, etc, all reside in one folder.
On a Mac, it’s [user]/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 5/
On Windows, it’s %APPDATA%\Steinberg\Dorico 5\
If this is a “clean” install (e.g. you’ve wiped the entire disk or all the user content), then you’ll need to restore those folders.
And no doubt there are other preferences and configurations from other apps that you’ll want to restore. Of course, the more you put back, the less of a clean install it becomes!
