Well I thought the update fixed this but apparently not. After the update I was able to save one group of channels as a preset. But for some reason I can no longer. I simply tried to save the same group of channels as a preset with a different name as the same group of channels as I had created the original preset for.
This makes no sense and is totally infuriating.
How much money do we have to spend before we get software that works? Why do features get taken away when they worked fine decades ago? Why do I have a feature that I’ve been depending on literally for 20 years suddenly disappear in an update? Steinberg sucks!
What type of preset? Are you referring to the newer Folder Groups?
There are multiple methods of saving “a group of channels.” For example, Save/Load Selected, Import/Export Track Archives? Both of these have been around for quite some time.
Yes I know saving channels has been around for a very long time that’s why I’m pissed. You know at one point you could actually save the entire mixer? I have clients waiting for me to do work for them and I’d like to simply be able to save and load track presets as I’ve been able to for the last 20 years.
Started a previous topic about this was advised to install the update. Seemed to fix it; I could suddenly find the track preset I had saved. But now I can’t save any new ones, or should I say I can but when I go to load them they aren’t found.
To anyone at Steinberg that might be seeing this: I’m speculating as to why I might be the only person complaining about it because this seems pretty huge and universal. Surely everyone uses track presets. When I upgraded I ran into the problem of not having disk space because the existing Steinberg folder for Pro 12 was still there - and up to now needed to be. I had some legacy projects that had to be finished. Perhaps when I delete that and uninstall Pro 12 then install the rest of the new package this problem will go away. This will take some time (that I don’t have today or for the next few days) so please feel free to let me know what you think and forgive me for my foul temper.
