Prevent Cubase from duplicate audio files when importing audio

Hello,

Importing an audio file inside a .cpr currently create a duplicated version of this file in the folder “Audio” of the project’s folder.

Is there a way to prevent Cubase from doing that and instead use the file location of the original file ?

The settings are confusingly under Prefs/Editing/Audio

You can make the decision in the Import Options dialog.

Ok I didn’t know that.
Sorry when I wrote “importing” I actually meant “drag and dropping” an audio file inside the .cpr (which does not give any import dialog :confused: )

Have you set the option to open the dialogue from the prefs page I gave you?
