I have a finished work for a large orchestra and choir. Later, I had to add a lot of bars in a specific section of the piece.
Now I have a fully edited full-score layout, except for one page that has become extremely crowded and messy. If I use Frame Breaks to create more space, all of my manual staff spacing adjustments on the following pages are lost, and the rest of the score becomes messy as well.
Is there a way to add pages and move the new bars onto them without affecting the pages that are already perfectly formatted?
Hi Danilo. I’m sorry that you fell into this trap. Engrave sub-modes are to be avoided as possible before the very end of the process exactly for the reasons you’re experiencing. You could use Note Spacing Changes instead of the note-spacing sub-mode (which I use once a year, now…), those would travel easily on other layout choices (or would be removed very easily). As for staff spacings, I’d rely on vertical justification and some variations over the default template (such as default with space on top or default with space on bottom) which are very easy to make (you only have to delete the music frame from the default template it would be based on and recreate one with more space on top or on bottom) and usually staff spacing submode is never used.
In your case, I would recommend using the Engrave menu>Staff spacing>Reset layout and the same with note-spacing, unless you have been doing very extensive use of those (which I think you really should not, with proper settings… but I know this comes with practice).

If you are worried about trying these changes @MarcLarcher has suggested, even though there is undo, you could duplicate (or use Save as…) so you can try out various things without disturbing the original file.
Reset layout has been often suggested here at this forum when there are odd layout problems occurring, although without seeing the file or understanding your layout intentions, we can only give general information, but hopefully it will help
Dorico has multiple automation processes and calculations built-in and overriding too much can cause more problems, requiring then, more manual interventions than is normally required.
