I’ve found that preview and acoustic feedback go silent in the pattern editor if “Audition through MIDI Inserts/Sends” is enabled in preferences. This is frustrating, as it necessitates constantly toggling that setting on and off in order to have reliable acoustic feedback for both patterns and tracks with MIDI effects applied.
To reproduce:
- Enable “Audition through MIDI Inserts/Sends” in Preferences → MIDI
- Create an instrument with a pattern sequencer
- Enable Acoustic Feedback in the pattern editor
- Click “Preview” (speaker icon) on one of the pattern lanes and observe that no sound is played
- Create some notes in the pattern editor and observe that no acoustic feedback is heard
- Disable “Audition through MIDI Inserts/Sends” and observe that sound is now heard as expected when the above steps are repeated.
Maybe I’ve overlooked something, but this seems like a bug to me.
