Hi folks, I have upgraded over the years and currently using the latest version of Cubase Pro - Do I require still to keep the previous iterations most of which are upgrades to keep my software functioning please. Each iteration takes up huge space. Thanks sincerely in advance and Happy New Year one and all. Aindre
Hi,
there is no need to keep any other version on your system than the one you are currently working with.
However, the older versions do not require a lot of space, it is usually less than 1 GB per version - content is shared across different versions.
But as I said - you do not have to keep them, you can as well delete them.
Happy new Year!
No, each installation is entirely independent from the others and can be deleted without impacting them.
However…
This isn’t actually the case. I just took a peek & Cubase 12 uses about 1G. What does use a bunch of space are the content libraries which are shared since the C14 content is a superset of C13, C12 etc. The only increase you should see is the new content that comes with each version.
If you think each install is huge I’m wondering if you might be redundantly downloading all the content for every version.
