Print a selection of instruments from a orchestral score

Is it possible to select from an orchestral score a group of instrumentalists, let’s say the string players, and print them as a ‘string part’? Not as a score, if the string has a pause for 20 bars, I don’t want it as a score with 20 empty bars.

You can create a new layout that includes all the string parts. As long as you turn on bar rest consolidation for that layout (in Layout Options > Players > Bar rests and multi-bar rests), if all the strings are resting you’ll see multi-bar rests instead of individual bar rests.
