Print one sided

This is not a new issue, but it is ANNOYING that Dorico sends a print job to my printer with the Duplex ‘on’ despite the fact that I turn it off.

Really? Dorico prides itself (rightfully!) on its engraving options yet has not solved this printing issue which apparently has been present for at least several versions.

I am using MacOS Tahoe with both an older HP Envy printer as well as a Canon GX 2000 – it doesn’t matter, they all seem to behave the same.

Yes I can export the PDF and then print single sided, but why in the world should I have to do this?

Rant over. But I do hope Steinberg developers can make this more of a priority for their otherwise fantastic program.

I’m not on Mac, but you can find several posts on this topic from other Mac users, along with ways to solve it.

(And this sees to be an issue with the underlying Qt framework on which Dorico is developed, not something directly under the control of the Dorico devs.)

The fix is to make sure that your printer’s built-in default is to print single-sided, and then set duplex in Print menus when you need it.

You may need to do this via your printer’s control panel, if it has one, or a web front-end interface. You can usually access this from System Settings > Printers.
