Printer behaviour on numbers and letters

Good morning, I received these photos from a Client. The printer prints some letters but not others. The same happens with the measure numbers. I sent him the PDF created in Dorico. With other clients, that normally always goes well. It seems random that letters are omitted during printing. It is probably not a Dorico problem, but does anyone have an idea how this could happen? Thanks

Can you upload the PDF? (Just one page will do.)

Did you make the PDF from Dorico’s own Print mode > Graphics export?

These problems have come up when using “Print to PDF” print queues, particularly on Windows.

Yes, I did it that way, like in your picture. Pdf attached.

As far as I can see, the fonts are embedded correctly in the PDF, and it prints on my printer fine.

I would want to know more about the setup used to print this – what was the printer; what OS, etc. At best, it could just be a corrupt font cache and they need to restart the computer.

Thanks, Ben. I think the client needs to try another printer or computer first. If they keep having issues, I’ll let you know. Thanks a lot for now!

It opens and prints fine on my Mac with Apple silicon and cheap HP lasterjet printer. I suspect it is something with your client’s machine(s).

Thank you for trying to print the file. I think too it’s something with my client’s machine. That’s what I messaged them this afternoon. They’ll try another machine.
