I have just finished my first Dorico project; a 16-part arrangement of Fidelio for Brass. However, when I go to Print mode, all I see is the Title and a big Tacet. This should not be so difficult!

Hi @rreifsnyder,
congratulation for your first Project in Dorico!
If you would like to post your Dorico Project, I am sure we find a very easy solution to your issue.

You can also post a cut-down version of it.

> > If you are having a problem with Dorico, the fastest way to get the help you need is to post the project, or a part of it, and not to post a screenshot. If you post a picture, you will almost certainly find that the first person to respond to your thread asks you to post the project. You may be concerned that the musical content of your project will be judged, or stolen. While we cannot guarantee that this will not happen, because of the supportive nature of the forum, this is vanishingly unlikely. There may be copyright or confidentiality restrictions that prevent you from posting the whole project. That’s fine! It’s always better in any case to cut the project down to a smaller size to attach it, particularly because there is a 4MB file size limit on attachments.
> >
> > To cut down your project, first do **File** \> **Save As** to save your project under a new name, to avoid making unwanted changes to your working project. If the project contains multiple flows, delete all flows except for the one that exhibits the problem. If the project contains multiple players, delete all players except for the one that exhibits the problem. If the problem is isolated to a particular bar or passage, then use the **Shift+B** popover to remove all other bars (e.g. select a note or rest in the bar after the problem passage, type **Shift+B** and enter a huge _negative_ number like **-9999** to delete all of the remaining bars in the flow).
> >
> > Once you have cut down the project to the minimum scope that reproduces the problem, in Play mode choose **Play** \> **Playback Template** and reapply the default playback template, or choose **Silence**. This dramatically reduces the file size of the project after you have deleted most of its musical material, because it removes the saved audio engine state.

But if your problem relates to a specific situation you’re experiencing in your project, you are guaranteed to get a more helpful answer more quickly when you include a suitable project file to reproduce the problem.

Sounds like you have chosen to print an empty layout.

Exactly, if your Players are not assigned to a flow, there is nothing to display.
Go to Setup Mode, select a Player to the left and make sure the flow at the bottom is selected. That should be easy (and it is not difficult). It’s even fun to do these assignments. You can do them the other way round too: first select the flow and then click onto the player, that you want to be part of that flow.

I followed your instructions and somehow three lines of my score were deleted. Having to start over again. Your software is ridiculously complicated. Lost three weeks of work in the process.

I‘m not sure your music is lost, but we need to see: can you post a screenshot of your Setup Mode, with all panels open?

Also, Dorico does automatic backups:

> **[Auto-save](https://www.steinberg.help/r/dorico-pro/5.1/en/dorico/topics/project_file_handling/project_file_handling_autosave_c.html)**
>
> The auto-save function stores a version of the currently active project at regular intervals, including new projects you have not explicitly saved yet. This reduces the chances of losing significant amounts of work if you accidentally close a project...

What do you mean by “Lines”?
Do you mean players (left) or do you mean layouts (right)
Flows are at the bottom.
This is all in Setup Mode, as advised.
What exactly did you delete?
