Printing Problems - Multiple parts at once

Is there a way for Dorico 5 to print multiple parts at once? I’ve seen where you are supposed to highlight the parts on the left-hand side of the screen, but this does not work. Dorico will only print one part when multiple parts are highlighted. Is there a workaround? Thanks!

It works for me. If I select multiple layouts in the left-hand panel:

And then press the Print button in the lower right-hand corner of the window, all 4 parts will print.

If I print from this screen, all I get is the percussion part. Any advice?

From your image, it looks like several of the fields/buttons on the right side have mixed values. See how neither “Printer” nor “graphics” is blue when you have all those layouts selected, and additionally all the strings of asterisks (*****) indicate that the values aren’t the same for all selected layouts. My guess is that you only had the percussion layout selected when you configured the right side, and so now even though you select them all, only the percussion layout is being sent to the printer.

Try selecting all the layouts, and then actively configuring everything on the right side the way you want it. It should work.

I’m still not managing to get Dorico to work. Every time I want to print (or, in this case, save as a PDF from the left side of the page), I have to print each part manually. I must be missing something…printing seems like such a basic feature, I can’t imagine it is not fully integrated into Dorico.

If you are on a Mac, it is recommended that you not use the system Print button in the lower left – use the Dorico functionality on the right.

Dorico saves print settings per layout. Because the button in the bottom right says “Print and Export”, I can tell that it has saved some of the layouts with Print settings (to a printer) and some with Export setttings (probably to PDF). As @Stu_M noted, this is also apparent from the fact that neither the Printer nor the Graphics button in the upper right is highlighted (blue).

If you want to export all of those layouts as PDFs, then you should follow his suggestions and choose all of the options on the right that you want – starting with clicking Graphics and then making sure you have PDF selected in the dropdown that will appear instead of printer names. The button in the lower right will also change to just Export when you do that.

Here’s an example of what your screen should look like to export all layouts to PDF.

And here’s what it should look like to print all layouts to a printer:

That is very helpful; thank you! The print button on the left isn’t functional for multiple parts (as you mentioned), which is a bummer, but clicking the Graphics button got me what I needed. I appreciate your assistance!

The Graphics button and the right-hand column are not fall-backs; they are the primary/intended way to print Dorico files at their highest quality.
