"Pro Drums" not loading samples

I downloaded Pro Drums via the Stienberg download assistant and they show up in my Library Manager. However, in Cubase 13 Media \manager panel while I can access and see the sample folders, none of the samples seem to be active. Shows the “not active” icon rather than the waveform icon (photos attached). I’ve hunted around for answers but no ideas yet. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem!

Here are some things I tried without success:

  • Reinstall the library
  • Upgrade Cubase Pro 13 to latest (13.0.41)
  • Restart the computer
  • Check that other samples work – yes, they work fine
  • Go into library manager and move to another drive
  • Go find the .vstsound files and click on them to open the library manager to ensure they are registered – they are!
  • Disable control room – I thought there was audio routing issues, but that wasn’t it
  • Tried accessing from MediaBay, Media > File Browser, and Media > Loops & Samples… no luck either way.
  • Change the sample rate on the project setup from 48k to 44.1k and reopen the project.
  • Try to drag and drop the audio into a track. It’s disabled, so this doesn’t work either.
  • Upgraded my interface’s driver and firmware
  • Reload in safe mode with preferences deleted - After this, I had to reconfigure the control room and add a monitor.

I can’t even add the audio to a track let alone preview it. It’s as if the product we bought is broken. I have been at this for two nights and can’t figure it out.

Got it! You have to go into the Steinberg Activation Manager and activate the bundle in addition to registering it. It was a licensing issue all along.

Amazing, never thought of that. Thanks much, it works now.
