I can not use WaveLab 12 and Cubase 14 simultaneously because UR22C has changed in WaveLab and doesn’t record. What setup do I need to make?
From the manual:
Using Several Audio Applications Simultaneously
You can allow other applications to play back via your audio hardware even if Cubase is running.
Prerequisite
You have set other audio applications that access the audio hardware to release the audio driver.
Procedure
- Select Studio > Studio Setup.
- In the Devices list, select Audio System.
- Activate Release Driver when Application is in Background.
Result
The application that has the focus can access the audio hardware.
I did this. When I open a window of one or another program, one of them stops; I don’t know why.
Did you change Wavelab’s settings too? If so maybe you should go to the interface’s settings and configure the “Exclusive mode”
I’m using a UR22C Audio Interface. I don’t really understand what you meant specifically by interface setting where in Cubase, Wavelab or UR22C.
On Windows it usually the case that only one program can access ASIO drivers at a time. SO release in background lets you have both programs open but only the one in focus using the audio system.
Why do you need both to work together exactly?
I can use Adobe Audition in parallel with Cubase 14 to record and further process audio data. This is not possible with Wavelab.
Is Audition using the ASIO driver?
I don’t know how they would make that work.
Adobe Audition does not use ASIO.
That’s why it works then.
how-to-disable-exclusive-mode-in-windows-sound-settings
Exclusive mode is not in cubase or wavelab but on windows settings as described above.
In cubase and wavelab set the “release driver in background”
