I’m trying to make a simple bit of text to say “2nd time ff” only I’d like the “ff” to use Dorico’s standard font for dynamics. After I set the font for “ff” to Academico Bold Italic, here is the result:
As you can see the bottom of the “ff” is cut off. I tried increasing the font size of “2nd time”, but the result is the same:
I feel like I must be missing a setting in the default text pop-up?

Instead of entering ff as text, right click and insert music text . The ff glyph is U+E52F
Another option is to enter the dynamic as usual, then open the lower properties panel and tick Prefix and type your text there. You may have to change the Dynamic Text Font style to regular if you don’t want the default italics (if it doesn’t impact usage elsewhere).
To have it play properly, use the “Suppress playback” options in the Properties Common section.
