I just discovered a problem with the Synchron Player in Dorico 6.
When I load a Synchron Player directly in Dorico 6, I can’t change the midi cc and the keyswitches in the player. I tried this in the Synchron Player in Dorico 5, in Vienna Ensemble Pro and in Samplitude Pro X4, there the problem doesn’t appear, only in Dorico 6.
I have Dorico 6.0.1 and the latest version of Synchron Player. I write it also to VSL.
I tested on a Windows 10 pc and a Windows 11 pc. The same problem appears.
Please post a screenshot of this - with a preset or patch loaded - for us to see…
Hi @mmka,
thanks for reporting, but actually someone else already did it before. So it’s in our bug tracking system but no solution as of yet. I have it on my to-do list but need some more time…
Hi Mark, here is an example of the Synchron Player in Dorico. Normally you can change the keyswitches and the cc’s (see the red arrows), but in Dorico 6 on my computer you can’t. But Ulf answered that it is on his to-do list..
Thanks Ulf. Good luck in tackling the issue.
Thank you, @mmka - I see exactly what you mean. Is it that way for you with all Presets?
As far as I see, it is. For now there is a work around. In Dorico 5 I can make a preset in the Synchron player, and save that. After that I can open that preset in Dorico 6. All the changes I made in that preset, appear correctly in D6, when I open in the Synchron Player that preset.
Also when I open a Dorico file in D6 that was made in D5, it is opened correctly, also the changes I made in the cc and keyswitches of the Synchron Player instances.
The only problem is that I can’t make a change in D6. But Ulf will find the solution, I’m sure about that.
The problem is, there are pop-up menus when you click on certain areas, but these pop-ups get opened behind the plug-in window, so you can’t see nor click on them. The z-order of the windows somehow got disturbed. Have to find out…
Thanks, Ulf, for mentioning this. Because with this knowledge I can get the pop-up menus before the plug-in window with ctr + tab, and then all things work as expected. By the way : this works only if just one instance of Synchron Player is open.
So for the moment I’ve been helped.
Ah, good to hear that you have a workaround, then I’m not so much under pressure to find a fix ![]()
Enjoy your weekend, Ulf!
