Problem with missing sound during playback

I have Dorico installed on a Windows 11 Lenova Ideapad (Laptop) and am not able to generate sound during playback. I enclose my settings and hope that this will help to resolve the issue.

Your sample rate is different on the ASIO Driver screen and the Device setup screen.

Either both should be 48K or both should be 44100.

That may not solve the entire problem, but the rates must be the same to avoid other problems.

I made them the same but I still don’t have sound.

Have you reapplied the Playback Template from the Play menu?

The Re-apply Template screen looks as shown below - there is nothing to re-

apply!

The latest version now includes the Auto template (which apparently chooses the best template for the Factory installed sounds that your system has installed).

If you want to see all the old list, just click the Show All Factory button.

With “reapply the playback template” it is meant: select the desired Playback template (you can select Auto, or anther factory template after expanding the list as suggested), an then click on the Apply and Close button: Dorico will so reapply the playback template (refreshing the whole Playback configuration and correcting it in case of errors caused by manual changes etc…)

I re-applied the template for Halion Sonic but still have no sound. The mixer shows that there is a signal so I am at a loss as to what I should do next.

Hi @John_McWilliam , while that project is loaded, please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the corresponding zip file to an answer here.
From the contained logs and things I can give more advice.

Hi @John_McWilliam , thanks for the data,
but I still cannot see what is wrong in your setup.

What if you switch on the metronome and start playback,
I presume then also no audio comes out, right?

I was in private contact with John and after tinkering around a bit, John managed to get back sound during playback.
