Cubase 13 here. No previous changes made (not that I know).
I think I changed some option, and I can’t find which it was.
Snap activated. Adjust to grid (no relative), everything linked to quantize, and all the typical parameters that avoid writting and moving outside the quantize setting between grids are set. What I see (I think) are my long used standard settings.
Since 1 week I can’t write in the track / arrangement editor according to the quantize value. If I set it to 1/4, It allows me to write with a resolution that I think is always 1/64. It’s not zoom dependent, it’s not quantize dependent. Like I said, snap is activated. I asked ChatGPT but never came up with the solution (always the typical “ah! now it’s perfectly clear what happens! hehehehe). No matter what I set up, the writting resolution with the pen It’s always like 1/64. Some form of snap is activated, it’s not like writting 100% free without snap activated, but like I said, it must be 1/64.
Moving is another thing, and that’s the strange thing. By moving, it works well. I can only do it between grid lines.
But this doesn’t happen when writing manuallys with the pen, and that slows down my workflow massively.
This is what I see. I have hidden a lot of things that I don’t need and I don’t know really nowadays where they are. If you need more, tell me. That MIDI notes you see, I can make them bigger or smaller according to something like 1/64, between the 1/4 grids. If I try to write a midi note for a whole beat like 1/4, it does a little tiny portion of the 1/4, it doesn’t fill automatically the 1/4 beat like it used to. It’s really annoying.
