I tried to add the following shortcuts to Dorico (Win 11, German):
“Ctrl + Alt + N” for “Duplicate to Staff Above”
“Ctrl + Alt + M” for “Duplicate to Staff Below”
The first shortcut works as expected, but the second one doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Does anyone have the same problem?
In Windows, this shortcut is only active when using the magnifying glass. So, this shouldn’t be a problem here.
I guess, it’s an issue with Dorico because the user-defined shortcut Ctrl+Alt+M works correctly in other applications, like Cubase or Word. Dorico doesn’t seem to recognize it, maybe because Ctrl+Alt+M creates a “µ” on a German keyboard.
The combinations Ctrl+Alt+Q and Ctrl+Alt+E which represent “@” and “€” work properly. Dorico displays them as “Ctrl+Alt+@” and “Ctrl+Alt+€”, though.
On the other hand, Ctrl+Alt+M is displayed correctly (not as “Ctrl+Alt+µ”) but doesn’t work for some reason.
Maybe you mean with Dorico+German keyboard+Windows?
I use Dorico with German Keyboard but on a Mac: and Alt+Control+M works nicely as shortcut. (and yes, the same shortcut produces µ in a Text application also on Mac.)
Thanks @Christian_R , but I don’t use the magnifying glass and it is deactivated.
Perhaps @Martin90 is on the right track. I can see the same behaviour.
