Problems and questions regarding condensing

Hello everyone,

I have been working on orchestrations lately and would like to ask a couple of questions about condensing.

First of all I would like to ask you how can I do that when, for example, oboe 1 plays a melody alone (without any note in oboe 2), put the stems down. I don’t mean to do it manually, but to be able to set it for the whole piece.
I attach a picture so you can see what I mean.

Secondly, I wanted to know if, instead of indicating 1. and 2. next to each instrument even when these two play at the same time, I could simply indicate a2 and how it can be done.

Related to the first point, I also wanted to ask if the dynamics of an instrument (such as oboe 1) can be configured to appear below its staff and not above it, so they apply to both instruments as a whole and not as individuals.

Finally, I don’t know how to put transposed pitch or “written score” in the upper left. I used to do it manually, but I wanted to know if there is an option to do it by default.

Thank you very much.

There’s a whole heap of options for this sort of thing under Library>Notation Options>Condensing (You probably want to turn off rests for inactive players).

To show “transposing score” or “concert score” at the top left of the first page of the full score layout, I suggest you add a text frame with the token {@layouttransposition@} to the First master page pair (don’t forget to add the frame to both the left- and right-hand pages in the page pair).
