i have le ai 8 installed on one machine and elements 8 on the other. i cannot open files made on one machine on the other one. what do i need to do?

i’m a musician and use cubase mostly as a virtual recorder. i record instruments live in cubase le ai 8. i want to mix/master these recordings in elements 8 but the files won’t open. any idea why that might be?
The two machines are what machines? With which Operating System? „The files donˋt open“ means what? cubase crashes? Files open empty? Any error messages? If so : which omes?
