A few of my VST 3’s are no longer being recognised by Dorico on my system. Cubase can see them - but not Dorico. One I use all the time is Pianoteq 8. Dorico can see 7 but not 8.
The VST’s are where one would expect - in Library/Plug-Ins/VST (and VST3).
Any help getting them back would be much appreciated.
Hi @David_Tee, there are over 40 VST3 plug-ins on the blacklist with you, for reasons I actually can’t say at this moment.
How familiar are you with the Terminal app?
To find out more you’d need to run the vstscanner for those plug-ins on the command line.
Just out of my head you’d need to run for example:
/Applications/Dorico 5.app/Contents/Components/vstscanner -p /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3/Relay.vst3/Contents/MacOS/Relay
After the -p you need to give the full path to the binary inside each vst3 bundle that is affected.
The output then will be some xml. Please post that here. Thanks
Pianoteq 8 is now appearing. Clearing the Audio Engine Cache seems to have worked for that one. However other VST3’s are still missing - For example Addictive Drums 2. I’m attaching the latest Diagnostics and also the Terminal Code for that one.
Actually, the strange thing is, in the diagnostics you just posted, the vst3 blacklist is empty and also that what I see in the Terminal output looks okay to me, so I would expect now Addictive Drums 2 now also to appear within Dorico. It really does not? Cubase does show it, right?
That’s why I thought it might be best to post another diagnostic report…
I can confirm that Addictive Drums 2 is not in Dorico, but is in Cubase. I’ve also spotted that Pianoteq 8 is listed under the effects in the Dorico mixer.
I’m currently working my way through the list of VST 3’s, cross referencing what else is on the Plug-ins/VST list that isn’t showing up in Dorico. It’s going to take some time - I’ll get back to you.
While I’m checking things, I’ve spotted something which may give a clue as to what’s going on. I’ve loaded a file that uses NotePerformer. The file plays, there’s no exclamation mark against NotePerformer on the input line - but NotePerformer isn’t present on the list of VST’s.
That list actually scrollable (though it doesn’t look like it should). Noteperformer is under Wallander Instruments, which unsurprisingly is down the bottom of the list!
