I’m still trying to find a workaround for Dorico’s inability to send aftertouch MIDI data. I found a program called Bome MIDI Translator that should do the job by serving as a translator to MIDI data going out of Dorico to my MIDI interface. But it requires going through Mac’s IAC Driver and that doesn’t seem to work. Has anyone out there encountered this problem or been able to send data through IAC Driver to some other application?
IAC should work fine. You’ll need to create a “MIDI Instrument” in Play mode, pointing at the IAC. Then Dorico will send MIDI to that.
Thanks for your reply. Unless I misunderstand you I’ve already done that. In play mode under the MIDI iInstruments menu I have selected AIC Driver, and have Bome MIDI Translator set to receive MIDI form that and to ship it our to my USB MIDI interface, which is U6MIDI Pro. I hear silence, though he translators log indicates it is receiving some MIDI signals, but no Note On, Note Off signals. When I set the MIDI iInstruments menu directly to my U6MIDI Pro it works fine. But I need the translator.
I’d recommend the app MIDI Monitor, which is excellent at showing what MIDI signals are coming from what ports.
It would be unusual for something to receive some MIDI signals, but not others, unless something external is filtering them.
