Hello, when transcribing music into Dorico, I quite often have a large .pdf file as a source, might it be a scan of a manuscript or an out of copyright print from imslp; and I like to check those files on my phone.
I never had a problem with this, pdf files having sizes of up to 100 MB and up to 200 or 300 pages.
Last December I retired my (entry) iPhone 11 and replaced it with a new iPhone 15 (not Pro). Since then I experienced constant crashes when dealing with these large pdf files. If I scrolled down from page 1 let us say to page 20, it already crashed. Pdf files became a problem. To look at f.e. page 80 I would have to use the Print dialogue (selecting page 80-82 and generating a small pdf from it, which I could then use to have a look). Rebooting the phone would not help, nor compressing the pdf with the built in tools. I don’t want to use Adobe Reader for looking at my pdf files.
Last week I updated iOS to version 17.4 and since then I can not reproduce the mistake any more. May be Apple has fixed something under the hood?
