Problems with montage compatibility between WL 12 and WL 13?

We have a project that was done in WL 12 a year ago. Opened it WL13 (it was originally a WL 12 montage, then WL 13 made a version of it that was compatible with) and we tried to redo some tracks for a client. All went well until we tried to save it and then we got a message saying that WL 13 stopped responding, so we had no choice but to close the program. We tried it four times with varying methods of importing files in or moving them into different folders (they are all WAV files), we are on a Windows 10 machine with all possible updates. Does anyone else experience this, or have advice? Thanks.

I am not sure of your specific cause … but FWIW we have found it preferable to save the ‘13’ montage as a new montage before working on it (since it’s temporary).

I have personally done at least a couple of projects a day in WL 13 since it came out, often with updated montages from previous WL versions. So far, no incident at all.

Until now everything was alright with me but who knows… can you specify what have you done after opening the 12 project with the new 13 version?

Thanks for the info. I will try that. Very upsetting to say the least.

We tried to update the material in the montage with some newly mastered material. That part went fine but when we tried to save the montage the computer froze. I will try Paul’s suggestion and report back.

All right, update:

We tried initially saving the WL 13 montage, but we got the same issue. Perhaps it is a problem with our computer… We started having some glitchy issues since downloading WL13. We will try to think of anything and keep you all updated. Thank you for your advice though.

Turned out to be a corrupted WL12 Montage. We reconstructed the montage in WL13 and it worked perfectly. Thanks for all the help!
