I’ve added percussion parts to my score. All the percussion parts are showing on the keyboard as B5 (no matter what note I played when recording). None of the notes are playing back, although they play fine when I press the virtual keys in the vst. Thoughts?
Every time I assign a percussion map to a particular sound, when I exit out and check that sound again, it has been zeroed out and is unassigned. What am I doing wrong here?
As mentioned in many posts on this subject, in the excellent videos on the Dorico channel on Youtube by Tim Buell all prerequisites to get a percussion kit or percussion instruments to payback correctly are shown. Key elements are a percussion map and the allocation of playing techniques to note heads in the setup.
If I understand you correctly, you seem to have sound when you play the notes on a keyboard but the notes do not playback in the score. This could mean that you have not allocated the different playing techniques to note heads in the set up for the instruments.
I’m having a similar problem. I have a five-line staff where snare drum and triangle are playing back just fine, but not cymbal, bass drum or tam-tam. I created these parts using the “empty kit” feature.
