Problems with transferring to new computer

I transfered Dorico from win7 to win10 machine, updated the e-licenser and downloaded the win10 installer. When trying to open the program I can see the vst version is 1.2 as is the Dorico version. I get the following messages: “Audio Engine Process Died” and C:/Program Files/Steinberg/Dorico/playback/halionPresets.xml invalid file format .

What to do?

I would suggest a full reinstallation. Download Steinberg Download Assistant from here, and use it to download and run the three Dorico installers listed within: Dorico 1.2 Application Installer, Dorico Playback 1 – HALion Sonic SE, Dorico Playback 2 – Symphonic Orchestra.
