I currently have an old core i5 2500k cpu running in my system with Cubase Artist 10. Everything is running well with what I am doing. I am picking up a new core i3 8100 cpu and motherboard etc. Just wondering if it is worth swapping my system to the new i3? Does anyone know if the core i3 runs similar or faster than the older i5 for what I’m doing. I write using audio and midi. Would the core i3 be better?
When it comes to effective speed, looks like the i3 is around 22% faster judging on user benchmarks. I’m pretty sure you’ll notice an improvement in the number of VST you can run, etc, and possibly lower latency.
