Project Default Chord Symbol Appearances Editor Bug

Hi altogether

I tried to change this

into this

Screenshot 2025-11-03 at 16.01.21

but as soon I press ok and reopen the Editor this entrance in the list is not there anymore and it also did not change the Chord Symbol in the Doc, is this a Bug?

Here is the File

Solar.dorico (961.5 KB)

Thank you very much

I guess it has something to do with this warning I get when I open your document

Maybe that font is missing the triangle.

Try to pick another font here

Did you check all the options under Library→Engraving Options→Chord Symbols? You shouldn’t need all those manual edits.

Yes i did, the problem is some weeks ago I made all “maj7” chord symbols into “j7” chord symbols and now i want to change all “j7” into “▵7” , but sometime it works and sometimes it does not as you can see below

@TonH thank you very much I will try it

Font was not the root of this problem.

I learned something today

This seems to work. Type in the chord symbol you want to change, click on the + sign

image

Click on the “J”

Click on the triangle glyph

Then click on apply to all roots in the bottom left corner

But I can’t find the correct settings in engraving settings to move the triangle up

@TonH thank you ! yes I already did this some weeks ago and it worked and I saved it as default into the Library with the star sign

now I want to change it again, but I can not delete this version

Screenshot 2025-11-03 at 18.43.19

the new version should be

so I edit it , but it does not stay in the editor when I close it and reopen it , it is not there anymore, I guess it has to do with the Library somehow the old chord symbol version has to be deleted first I think, but I don’t know how to to do that

@TonH just move it in the editor by hand

something mysterious happened as i moved the triangle myself it suddenly worked, i could change the chord symbols but only for one Root

as I put in “maj7(#5)” without the Root I could edit for all roots , then I moved in every Root the triangle just a little and it seemed to work. So a message to the Developer, it seems to be a “Refreshing Problem” ( Model View Controller principals !!! ), I can program in Swift 6 myself and i made sometimes the same mistakes myself, if I am wrong please let me know,

Thank you very much !!

I’m afraid too much ‘just move it around’ might be a part of you’re current problem

But, I’ll stop in this thread, too complicated for me, I’ve got too little knowledge to help you.

But undoubtedly, some others will
