I can try to back it up in safe mode with all plugs deactivated. Thats the only way the project will open.

Just tried. Same deal sadly. The backup cpr is also 896 MB and hangs on load with plugins re-enabled.
I should say ‘hangs’ is maybe not technically correct. Looking at it in Task Manager it say Cubae isnt responding but it is still loading into memory (currently using 9GB RAM, I have 65 Gb installed).
So it appears to still be loading, sort of. it may be it might just load after god knows how long. Sadly its the end of the day here and I gotta go home!
EDIT: scratch that, it seems to have peaked at 9Gb and is just randomly fluctuating up and down interminably.
Hey mate, just to update - thanks for this one. Was able to get to the project and export out some stems in order to rebuild the track easily in a new project this way. You legend.
EDIT: So it was a single instance of Kontakt. Loading a previous version and it had some missing samples dialogue. For whatever reason, when this was saved into the new version it prevented that track (and project) from loading. Resolving the missing samples dialogue separately for the nki in question still did not allow the new version to open though (which is odd as they are kinda separate things). But I could load it from the older version, resolve the dialog, and export the track individually. No idea why or how that happened. Very strange.
