Where can I attach Infos to the actual WaveLab project?
In the project window I can find infos about Filegroups.
But nothing about the currently opened opened project.
Not even the project name is visible.
Anybody to bring light to this?

If you mean, is it possible to add textual information to a project, well no. That feature does not exist. However, you can do it for each audio montage that belongs to the project.
The name of the project is displayed in the main caption bar.
Hello PG1,
thank you for your infos.
OK no project meta infos. So I have no longer to search
In think I saw the project name in the main caption bar a time ago. But now
I find file names there - the name of the actual active file. In this case a wav file that I recorded as Audio file. If I change the audio file to one of the other recorded files that file shows up in the main caption bar.
In new projects without recorded files the title bar shows the project name. If a file is active the title bar shows the filename.
It’s not world shaking but sometimes I want to know in which project I am - and find only filenames.
If there is no open file, you see as on my previous picture.
If there is an open file, you see WaveLab / project name / file name
Here the project is named “Demo1”:
@PG1
yes thank you
oh yes - that’s what you wrote - I first took a second (third) look at the title bar and then thought that it must something like this.
Thank you.
I was a little bit - hmmh - confused from the sparse populated project window.
No critic.
I think programs get new features and then grow with passing time that is the new features get richer in time.
So I dreamed of a project tool window with a bit more information in a kind of tree view.
But that is only dreaming.
And thanks again. I appreciate the quick manner in which I can get answers to questions - that’s a very fine thing
@PG1
yes thank you - I know that window.
When I wrote about the tree view I remembered my thoughts when opening an old project.
Everytime I - open - want to do something with - a project - I always set up anything new
starting with the connection settings. Then the audio file (format …) …
I know there are templates for many things but everytime I open a project I think how nice it would be - if for example - the connection setup would be stored with the project. So I could open a project and anything is working - given the base fact that the needed interface is connected to the computer.
Something like a project view - from which I can directly achieve all settings - connected to - or contained in the project. The project as central anker point of all things.
But I think I have only little experience with the programm yet.
One thing I’m everytime stumbling over for instance is the path handling.
if I want to save a new - let’s say audio file.
I would expect the project path as program suggestion for the path - but it’s always something from another old project.
I know there are many settings in the global section of settings with the folder entry. But till know I couldn’t manage them work the way I want.
May be time and more testing will solve that.
I think I play a little more time and then when I got a more precise picture, I formulate some more concrete suggestions.
Just now many things feel a little bit arcane not imeadiately intuitive - for me - things seem to be distributed over a number of locations which I have to learn where they live.
You should consider contextual folders
