Project Logical Editor makes Nuendo 15/Cubase 15 crash

Hi
Trying to create this little preset in PLE. The moment I click “Apply”, Both Nuendo 15 aND Cubase 15 crashes.
Not so good!
What can be done?

I have tested the preset in an empty project in Nuendo and Cubase (15) and it works. But crash when I load my current project.
What can I do?

Usually when I have a specific project with a bug that I want to get rid of I create a new empty project, check that the bug is not present (as you have done), and then import all the tracks, with everything included, from the buggy project to the new one.

If the bug is then present in the new project, that means that something in one or more tracks is causing it. What you can then do is clear the project and re-import the tracks, half each time, checking for the bug in each half. Everytime you find the buggy half you then repeat the procedure on that half untill you can narrow it down to the offending tracks.

Edit to add: this method is also useful for finding offending plugins when you have trouble with sessions loading or mixer hangs, etc.

Okay, Thank you for your help.

  1. I Launched Nuendo with an empty project and then I imported the some tracks, starting with Tempo, Signatur and markers. No problem.

  2. Then I imported som Keyscape tracks, no problem.

  3. Then I imported som VI tracks all placed in folder with group channel, and boom! crash

  4. Then i moved those 4 tracks out of the folder with group channel, and now the preset works!

  5. Then I moved them back and now It works!

  6. I have now tried to load the old project and move all tracks out of their folder with group channel, and no crash!

  7. I have now tried to move all the tracks back to their folder with group channel and no crash!

This project was created in Cubase 13 and then moved to Nuendo 15 - the first version - and since then I have of course updated Nuendo, so maybe some tricky error has survived through all updates?

Well, I might have found an issue. I record my Grand Piano with two sets of mics. And I have moved the two stereo tracks to a folder with group channel. It seems that there are issues with this combination - crashes are back! ;-(

How can I report this to Steinberg - maybe get some help?

Go to your MySteinberg account through their webpage and create a support ticket. Best would be to include crash reports (.dmp on Windows, .ips on Mac).
