Project not saving changes

Hi,

My project isn’t saving changes consistently.

I noticed a change to the subtitle box under the information tab didn’t save. To test, I added a random note, saved, closed, and reopened the project — the note stayed. After deleting the note, saving, and reopening again, the deleted note reappeared.

It’s also not saving the layout change to fill frames with blank staves, though the blank staves still show up in the project thumbnail in the hub (see attachments).

I should note that near the inception of this project, a dialogue appeared stating that a change was made to the file on the disk or something along those lines. I typically never see that prompt.

Any suggestions?

Hello Grace,
it would be best, if you post your project here - so we can see what is going on.
As far as I understand your post, I suspect two things:
You are using the default page template which does not enclude a subtitle field. You can enter a subtitle into the Project Information Window, but it won’t display - unless you have added a field with the subtitle token to your template.
Secondly, if Layout Options don’t seem to have an effect, it usually points to user error, not having chosen the layout when applying the options.
As said above, if you post your project here, we can easily solve this.

If Grace is using a default template, just adding the Title would likely create a page override which would prevent any template changes (if that is what she actually meant by “layout changes”) from taking effect.

Definitely posting the file would be important to diagnosing what is going on.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. When I deleted the other flows from the project to create something for you all, naturally that change was saved. What doesn’t save consistently are layout options changes, changes made in the project info window, note changes… it only happens with this project. Any other project saves changes just fine.

Thank you very much,

Graceson

I have no problems saving those kinds of changes in this file. I used Dorico 5.1.80, which is the same version that you have.
