Project Recover

I’ve lost a project. It was not backed up on iCloud. It does not show in my iPad’s “recently deleted” folder — no Dorico files show here. Is there any way to recover it?

Hello Heather,
welcome to the forum.
Does your project show in Dorico’s “hub”?
Also have a look at the two “Dorico” folders:

  1. On My iPad/Dorico/
    and
  2. iCloud Drive/Dorico/
It is possible that Dorico put a file there…

Thanks so much. I already looked there and even used a recovery app. It’s gone. Luckily I remembered most of it and had recording of much of it. I wrote a new composition.

Heather, once you start a project on the iPad, a file is been autosaved to your filesystem. If you close Dorico (without explicitly “saving” the new project) and re-open it, you will see the project in the hub/start screen. You can switch the view between icon and list view. If you switch to list view, you will be able to see the exact path to that project file. Can you make a screenshot of that list view?
Another question:

I suppose you are familiar with the Files application on iPadOS. I don’t see a folder called “recently deleted”. Were did you find that folder?
