Project window edge behaviour

Howdy peeps,

Long time Cubase user here, back from about a 4 year break. Just recently updated to Cubase 8.5 from Cubase 6 and there is one thing that is annoying the hell out of me. When in the project window, if I move my mouse to the very top edge, it will bring up a little menu to select certain view modes, like status line, overview, etc. This constantly interferes with me trying to close a VST instrument (I’m on a MacBook Pro 13"). Anyway, can I disable this?

Seeing that I have a button in the top left corner of the project window that does exactly the same thing, I feel this extra drop down box thingy is pointless. The left, right and bottom edges are not a problem. But that top edge is really annoying. If you still don’t know what I’m talking about, check out page 47 in the operation manual. I have also attached an image from the manual.

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help me out. Cheers.
