Hello everybody,
I am using cubase 10 and have a
question.
When i save a midi project and i reopen it
i do not get the version a saved.
The measures are not the same; those are compressed while i save them 1,2,3,4 and also the tracks are not in the screen as how i saved them. The controllers, and notes, etc. are ok and when i reopen the file, those changes are still there.
In my preverence i set it to:
"always"and “open in the last vieuw”
Is there anybody who can help me???
Hi,
If the created file is a MIDI file (*.mid or *.midi) then you don’t save the project. You export the project instead. A lot of information about the project is missing from the MIDI file.
So, the question is: do you need a MIDI file to play it in another MIDI player, or do you need the Cubase project to continue from the same state?
Hello Martin and everbody,
I think i have the problem.
I work on different computers, with different windows versions, with different back-up divisies, like usb, ssd, even the cloud…
And they all have there own save and read protocol. It is just a little different but enough to get this problems.
So my advice is be convinced that you use the same hardware and software as much as possible. Make in some stages a back up to get back….manage your way of werking.
And how i work is: i just make midifiles and save them as a project. Because from this map i use cubes for my life Performance. So my files are not complicated, there are only midi notes, programchanges and controllers)
Sorry for my poor englisch.
Eric
Hi,
Even if you are using exclusively MIDI, I would recommend you save the project (as native *.cpr) instead of exporting it (as *.mid/midi) file. This gives you more options, like using track colours, using the windows layouts, etc.
It doesn’t matter how you share the projects among multiple computers.
